Ants are basically very simple creatures. Wherever you see one of them, you can be sure there is an entire army of them somewhere that is building a nest. Ants do not function individually. However, if your home is experiencing a serious infestation of them where they can be found crawling all over the place be it indoors or outdoors, you might as well think other alternative in getting rid of ants. This is where you use ant baits. The idea is that you do not want to just kill the ants that you see. You want to kill those that you can't see. In order to do that, you need to let the ants carry these ant baits back to their nest to kill the entire colony as well. Otherwise, they will continue to multiply and you will never be able to get rid of your ant problems.

How Do Ant Baits Work?

Ant baits are basically insecticide which ants find irresistible. What happens is that they will bring the ant baits back to their colony. Since food is shared among the entire colony, the insecticide works slowly poisoning all of them. The main focus is to poison the queen so that she can no longer furnish offspring as well. Those that carried the ant baits back to the colony will also be infected and die. This is a much more grand strategy when it comes to combating anyone ant infestation problems that you have in your property.
